Enjoying post-race treats.....even though I didn't race.

Animal of the Week:

I just returned from a visit with Poly, my dog-son (and coach Joel). They are in LA for a couple of days as the make their way back home to BC. I believe it is now official: Napoleon's tongue can no longer fit in his mouth!

Animal of the Week:

This is Yoshi, a rat terrier mix. As you can probably tell by his chihuahua-like features, I am quite fond of him. Adam and I were lucky to live with little pup during his visit to Cali and even though Adam may deny it, he was also quite fond of Yoshi. Yoshi's favourite activities include sunning himself (as seen here), stealing fallen lemons and avocados from the trees and hiding them, and basically, getting involved in everyone's business.

Fun Stuff:

My new cruiser bike. Basket? Check! Kickstand? Check! Cup holder? Check!

Animal of the Week:

This is Sammy and Shadow. They belong to Jenna's homestay, Susan and Stuart. When it comes to animals, I would never be one to pick favourites, but as you can see, Shadow is a poodle. Enough said.

This is Napoleon, my dogson (canine version of godson). Poly has always been a bit of a trendsetter in the doggie fashion world and as you can see here, he is yet again showing off his cutting-edge style in this spiderman ensemble.

My homestay, Jason, is an animator and was involved in the creation of Ugly Dolls. I am pretty sure my bedroom is home to one of the largest collections in the world.

This is my very sweet dog, Chloe, a poodle/jack russell cross. She lives in Vancouver with my parents and with my recent trips to the mainland, I have been fortunate to spend some wonderful time with her. In this photo she is enjoying her favourite hobby, patiently waiting for some snacks from my mom.

Animal of the Week:
I never had a chance to meet this poodle personally, but it was taken by a great friend who knows my obsession with the breed. This particular doggie was clearly the captain of this boat as they cruised into the Victoria Harbour.

Thursday, November 8:
Vancouverites aren't often known for their cutting-edge style, but this time we may be on to something. As the rainy months approach, I need to get my hands on a pair of these before they fly off the shelves. From the street to the pool in no time!

Animal of the Week:
After a week full of some serious exploring in Whistler, this black bear wins "Animal of the Week", hands down. I was thankful we didn't run into any of his friends while out running or hiking as they are apparently everywhere this time of year, getting fat for their winter of sleep. This guy was just hanging out in a park near the Village, munching on the grass at an astonishing speed. He looked quite satiated when we came across him so he didn't pay too much attention to us.....phew!

Animal of the Week:
This feral hen with her chicks were on the Railway Trail in Bermuda. It may look like a paparazzi shot, but that's because they were so skittish that I had to do some minor bushwacking to get this photo. There were these wild chickens and roosters were all over the island, even darting along our run course (of course I noticed them while racing :)
