Triathlon: Natasha Filliol's April Update Hi all, This is my first group update in a little while and my first of the year. I just wanted to let you know about an article in the Toronto Sun from last Saturday –it’s great and included a nice photo from my 10th place at ITU Worlds last December. Here is the link to the web edition: (hopefully it’ll still be there when you get this): www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/TorontoSun/Sports/2004/04/03/406645.html. Also, for those that missed the CBC coverage of Worlds, I’ll be having some footage converted to digital and put on my website in the next couple of weeks. Speaking of my website, I have updated it for this year: check it out at www.NatashaFilliol.com. I would like to welcome my new supporters: Reebok shoes and apparel, Orca wetsuits and race suits, American Classic wheels and Tufo tires to go on my new wheels. My returning supporters are: Orbea bikes (I’m loving my new carbon Orca bike), Powerbar (can’t live without them), Marco Travel in Paris (organizing all my travel for this Olympic year), Millard Rouse and Rosebrugh accounting in Brantford (especially important at this time of year), GPush sports drinks (I average about 20 bottles per week of this stuff), and Competition Zone coaching and management (putting all the details together). I’m getting ready for my first race of the year next weekend: a world cup in Ishigaki Japan. My training has been going very well and I’m looking forward to starting the year off strong. The first race of the year usually is a little rusty, but I feel ready for a solid performance and based on my training I know this will be my best year yet. After Ishigaki Japan on the 11th, I’m headed to Mazatlan Mexico on the 25th of April, and then over to the World Championships in Funchal Portugal on May 9th. A top 8 performance at Worlds is one opportunity to snag an Olympic spot, as is the Edmonton World Cup on July 11th. My season will focus on qualifying for Athens, and having a great race there, as well as continuing to gain experience “learning to win” races. Thanks for your continued support, Natasha Filliol
