Multisport: Outside Magazine And Carmichael Training Systems Help You To Train Like Lance

Outside Training Center Provides Access to New and Innovative Coaching and Training Information

Santa Fe, NM, May 24, 2004 - Outside, America’s premiere active-lifestyle magazine, and Carmichael Training Systems, the leader in endurance coaching and development, have joined together to help people achieve their athletic goals through a new online initiative. The Outside Training Center, powered by Carmichael Training Systems (CTS), offers the innovative training practices that have helped propel five-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong and numerous other professional and amateur athletes to unprecedented levels of achievement.

“This strategic partnership with CTS will provide the millions of Outside enthusiasts with the resources to push themselves toward their personal goals,” said Anne Mollo-Christensen, Outside’s vice president for business development. “Athletes, from the weekend warrior to the elite, work with a coach, tailor their own programs, and directly improve their performance levels.”

OutsideOnline.com, the Web site for Outside magazine, provides news, articles, gear and travel tips, and fitness content for those living an active lifestyle. The Outside Training Center is accessed through OutsideOnline.com and offers exclusive online articles about training and nutrition, as well as training packages designed by CTS professionals.

“The relationship with Outside offers a broader array of athletic and active people the opportunity to experience the uniqueness coaching can offer,” stated Chris Carmichael. “In the past, coaching was always thought of as something for professional or elite athletes. People are now learning that coaching is also for those who want to add some structure and guidance to their everyday training in order to make the most of their workouts.”

Whether used by a recreational, advanced, or professional athlete, the coaching methodology of the Outside Training Center, powered by CTS, is designed to significantly enhance an individual’s performance. Packages are based on the CTS method of developing the body’s aerobic system and endurance, all while being tailored to the individual’s goals and lifestyle. Becoming a member of the Outside Training Center provides coach interaction and feedback, a moderated forum, nutrition analysis, program adjustments, and motivational assistance. Training packages vary in price and are available for numerous sports, including adventure racing, cycling, running, and multisport conditioning.
