Multisport: RunnersWeb.com Inc. Renews Sponsorship of OAC Triathlon and Corporate Relay for 2005

RunnersWeb.com Inc. has renewed its sponsorship for the 2005 Annual Heart Institute Triathlon and Ottawa Athletic Club Corporate Relay.

Heart Institute Triathlon - July 9, 2005

Ottawa Athletic Club Gatineau Triathlon

The Triathlon will be held on July 9th, 2005 in Gatineau Park starting at the Meech Lake Beach. The swim of 1200 metres in picturesque Meech Lake will be followed by a 22km cycle, and finish up with a 7km run on the rolling terrain of the Parkway.

The 2004 22nd Annual Heart Institute Triathlon presented by the Ottawa Athletic Club was a huge success with the National Capital Region's largest triathlon enjoying the most competitive field in the race's history.

With many of the previous year's winners in contention - Jamie Stephenson won the men's title in a time of 1:19:03.

Sheila Kealey won the women's race with her third win in four years - finishing in a time of 1:29.

The first team overall which was a dream team of sorts named "Gonna Tri Now" was made up of Bruce McNicoll, Bruce Ketchum (both previous individual winners from other years) and very popular runner Andre Okenge. They finished in a time of 1:16.

The Heart Institute and the Ottawa Athletic Club once again partnered for this charity sporting event to raise monies and awareness for Ottawa's worthy Heart Institute.
