Posted: December 19, 2004 Triathlon: Windsor Triathlon Voted Race of the Year 2004 The Royal Windsor Triathlon is once again the "2004 BTA Race of the Year" as voted by members of the British Triathlon Association. The Windsor course adds to the magic of the event, with the swim taking place in the majestic River Thames, the bike journeying through picturesque Berkshire villages and through Windsor Great Park and the run finishing through the scenic town centre that takes in Windsor Castle, Eton Bridge and Eton College. Event Director John Lunt adds " The Royal Windsor Triathlon is proud to be honoured once again and this makes all the hard work worth while. It is a big thanks to the people of Windsor and Eton, the sponsors, retailers, crew and volunteers, and of course the athletes, who make it such a great event". Around 950 entries for 2005 have already been received. Those already entered (By the 12 Dec) should receive a confirmation email and/or a letter in the next 2 weeks. Entry forms can be found on: www.humanrace.co.uk The Eton Super sprints are also starting to fill up. The first open water swim of the year (15 May) has already accepted 196 entries. Eton 2 -3rd July and Eton 3-17 July also have entries coming in. The sport is really taking off. A number of new races will be coming on stream next year look out on the website and we will also keep you updated via email. Don't forget the scoot /bike/run events for kids- very popular last year and great fun for all those watching. There will be 3 this coming year. Look out for some great deals from Timex and Orca at Triandrun in 2005 and the Official Charity for Human Race events in 2005 is Leukaemia Research. Comment on this story. |
