Posted: February 3, 2005 Multisport: The Makers Of Tylenol® Name Chris Carmichael As Spokesperson For Tylenol® 8 Hour Fort Washington, PA (February 3, 2005) - McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals, the makers of TYLENOL®, have named former Olympic cyclist and world-class coach Chris Carmichael as a national spokesperson for TYLENOL® 8 Hour Extended Release Pain Reliever. In recognition of the post-race muscle soreness that most runners feel the day after a marathon, the makers of TYLENOL® have launched the "Muscle Ache Monday" campaign. To help runners effectively treat post-marathon muscle soreness, Carmichael, in partnership with the makers of TYLENOL® 8 Hour, will attend major marathons across the United Sates offering tips on training and recovery. "Muscle aches can last for several days after a marathon, so it is a good idea to have a post-race strategy in place that helps to manage muscle soreness," said Carmichael. I often recommend that marathoners do plenty of stretching, follow a good nutritional plan, and also use a pain reliever such as acetaminophen, the ingredient in TYLENOL® 8 Hour, to manage post-race muscle soreness. I work with elite athletes and others that are just looking to get into shape and they both need to know how to recover. The same tips I give to elite athletes can be used by everyone." Carmichael recently kicked off the TYLENOL® 8 Hour "Muscle Ache Monday" campaign on Sunday, January 9th, at the Walt Disney Marathon in Orlando, Florida, and will next attend the Rock N' Roll San Diego Marathon (June 5-6, 2005).
