Somersault Promotions is proud to announce that the 2005 Canadian Duathlon Championships will take place at the Ottawa Duathlon on June 18 2005. The race will feature the best of the Canadian Elite and Junior racers in a draft legal format. They will be competing to represent Canada at the 2005 Duathlon World Championships in Newcastle, Australia in September. The Elite Athletes will be competing for a minimum CDN $5000.00 prize purse. Age Group and AWAD athletes will have a chance to qualify for 4 spots per age group on the Canadian team in Australia. This race is September 25th. In addition, 6 age group spots will be available for the 2006 Duathlon World Championships. This race will be in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland and gives us a chance to really show the world the depth of our talent. The Ottawa Duathlon is for everyone. You don't have to try for a spot on the Canadian team to have fun. Come and race or enter a relay team and just have fun. Individual race entry fees are $75.00 but there is a 15% discount until March 1st! For more information please check the race web site at www.somersaultpromotions.com. Somersault would like to acknowledge the efforts and support of the Ontario Association of Triathletes and Triathlon Canada for their assistance in bringing the race to Ottawa this year.
