Posted: July 28, 2005 Running: Tim Arem, "T-Bone", Selected as Bele Chere Urban Challenge Competitor Bele Chere will mark its 27th year, July 29-31, as 365,000 festival goers converge on the streets of downtown Asheville, N.C. to hear fantastic music, enjoy great food and watch the 2005 Bele Chere Boot Camp Urban Challenge unfold. Among the 12 selected competitors is award-winning fitness educator Tim Arem, M.Ed. Known world-wide as the energetic health and fitness character, "T-Bone", Arem has been involved in 500 races and has worked with 1.5 million families at fitness events for over 15 years. His mission "health and fitness as a way of life from childhood to adulthood" inspires and motivates thousands of families nationwide. For three days, 12 competitors will camp on the Urban Challenge Island, located in the center of downtown and race their way through team and individual challenges that test physical strength, mental quickness and creative thinking. When asked about the challenge Arem expresses, "I am excited to represent the 50 and over culture and to continue promoting health and fitness to children and adults of all ages - we'll see you there!"
