Posted: July 31, 2005 Athletics: IAAF Council To Decide On Venue For 2006 World Cup And New Home For World Athletics Final HELSINKI - The IAAF Council meets in the Ballroom of the Helsinki Scandic Continental Hotel tomorrow, Monday 1 August, starting at 9:00 a.m. Council Members will spend most of the day reviewing final preparations for the 45th IAAF Congress (3-4 August) and the 10th edition of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, which opens in Helsinki's Olympic Stadium, on Saturday 6 August. They will also decide on venues for the 2006 World Cup and a new home for the IAAF World Athletics Final for the period 2006-07-08.
