Posted: December 14, 2005 Triathlon: Ozark Valley Triathlon To Host 2006 “Best Of The US” Arkansas Qualifier (St. Paul, MN – 12/14/2005)–– ”Best of the US” Management is pleased to announce that The Ozark Valley Triathlon, a.k.a. the Arkansas State Triathlon Championships, will host the 2006 “Best of the US” Arkansas State Qualifier. The fastest male and female resident amateur will earn the right to represent Arkansas at the “Best of the US Championship” in Excelsior, MN on September 16. The Ozark Valley Triathlon, slated for June 25, replaces the Louisiana Red River Tinman in Shreveport, LA, which hosted the 2005 Arkansas State Qualifier. “We were unable to secure a race in Arkansas in 2005 and reluctantly selected an event in northern Louisiana to host the Arkansas Qualifier,” says Jerry MacNeil, “Best of the US” PR Director. “This year, however, we were able to bring the Ozark Valley Triathlon on board. And we couldn’t be happier. The OVT is arguably Arkansas’s premier multisport event.” The four-year-old Ozark Valley Triathlon will be staged on June 25 at the beautiful Lake Wedington Recreation Area northwest of Fayetteville. The event consists of a 1000 yard swim, followed by a 19 mile bike leg and a four mile run.
