Triathlon: Tri-Shark Classic To Host 2006 “Best Of The US” Illinois Qualifier

(St. Paul, MN – 12/16/2005)–– ”Best of the US” Management is pleased to announce that the Tri-Shark Triathlon Classic will host the 2006 “Best of the US” Illinous State Qualifier. The fastest male and female resident amateur will earn the right to represent the Land of Lincoln at the “Best of the US Championship” in Excelsior, MN on September 16.

The Tri-Shark Triathlon Classic, slated for June 3, replaces the Iron Horse Quartermax, which hosted the 2005 Illinois State Qualifier. “We are so happy that Tri-Shark is part of this year’s program,” says Jerry MacNeil, “Best of the US” PR Director. “We pursued this event on the advice of several of Illinois’ top amateur triathletes, who were unanimous in their praise of this event. They complimented Tri-Shark’s organization, it’s venue and it’s strong field quality, which are precisely the qualities we seek in our qualifying events.”

The 13-year-old Tri-Shark Triathlon Classic will be staged at the beautiful Moraine View State Park southeast of Bloomington. The event consists of a 600 yard swim, followed by a 13 mile bike leg and a 5K run. It’s enrollment ceiling is 400 and, as always, will fill quickly.

The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
