Athletics: Turin Marathon Moves To The Fall

The Turin Marathon will be held in the fall of 2006 instead of its traditional time in the spring. The 2006 date is Sunday, Sept. 24.

The change was made at least in part because Turin will be hosting the Winter Olympics next February.

The organizers are offering some registration incentives for the 2006 edition of the race. First-time marathoners, women and runners born in 1946 can register for free. The latter group get a free pass because the race is celebrating Italy's 60th anniversary of becoming a republic.

More race information is available at www.turinmarathon.it.
