Highlights for April include:

  • Women 40 and over celebrate their irrepressible spirit, confidence and achievement with the More Marathon and two person half marathon team event in Central Park.
  • New York Road Runners Half Marathon Grand Prix Series continues with a start on the Coney Island boardwalk and a finish in Prospect Park. That would be Brooklyn.
  • For those who have a triathlon planned for this summer, the time to put in those homework miles is now. And around town the water is really churning.
  • One step at a time, entrants make up ground in the race against colon cancer at the Daily News presents the Pfizer Oncology Colon Cancer Challenge.
  • Supporting physical education programs for youth in underserved communities, New York Road Runners Foundation showcase event is the Jamboree at the Armory, where everyone’s a winner.
  • Addis Ababa may not be on our short list of capitals that host mega running events. But the Great Ethiopian Run offers an astounding confirmation of the universality of running.
  • The man who changed the Ironman from a survival contest into a race. Dave Scott of California would win the Ironman six times, a Michelob Ultra Great Moment in Racing.
  • While jogging at your own pace and in your own direction is wonderfully pleasurable, many choose to pin on a race number and experience the Joy of Racing. A sportfilm.com music video.
