Athletics: World ace to ING Amsterdam Marathon

Patrick Ivuti will participate in the 31st ING Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday 15 October 2006. With the participation of the Kenyan Ivuti the organization has succeed in contracting an absolute world ace to the Dutch capital.

After a successful career on the track and several medals on World Championchips cross country, a couple of years ago Ivuti applied himself to road running. Ivuti is one the fastest athletes ever on the half marathon with his personal best time of 59.31. Ivuti made a strong debut on the marathon in Chicago in autumn 2005. His fifth place in a time of 2.07.46 demonstrated his potency on the full marathon.

Ivuti will seize the opportunity of Amsterdam's fast course to set a personal record on the marathon. In an earlier stadium also Vanderlei Lima (Brasil) and Fabiano Joseph (Tanzania) have been contracted.
