The Kenyan Susan Chepkemei take the challenge to revenge their self on Dutchman Kamiel Maase in the Dutch coastal village Egmond aan Zee on Sunday 14 January 2007. With an historical minimal time difference of just one second Maase won the traditional man/woman contest in the Egmond Half Marathon. The organization of Le Champion also this time succeeded in contracting both last year’s winners for the 35th jubilee edition.
Finish of the Egmond Half Marathon 2006, when Kamiel Maase (number 4) beat Susan Chepkemei (number F2) with just one second in the traditional man/woman race (in which women start 8.46 earlier than men)
Sold out!
Never before the popularity of the new year’s classic was bigger than this year. For the first time in history the maximum number of racing numbers had been sold out that early. The thousands of runners not only run against each other, but will also be put the proof by the ever chancing weather conditions and the heavy course over the beach and through the dunes.
