Triathlon: St. Anthony’s Triathlon Sells Out In Seven Hours

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Anthony’s Triathlon officially closed registration for individuals after just seven hours, a near record sell-out for one of the premier multi-sport events in the United States.

A combination of 3,800 individual triathletes and 100 relay teams will compete Sunday, April 29 in downtown St. Petersburg for a prize purse of more than $50,000.

General registration is closed. However, charity slots are still available and applications are still being accepted for professionals competing on Sunday and for the Meek & Mighty Triathlon, a short distance race for youths ages 7-14 and novice adults held Saturday, April 28.

Known for its scenic course along the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront and attracting high caliber competition from around the world, the 2007 registration drew athletes from 15 countries and 47 states.

Volunteers are needed April 27–29 and will receive a commemorative race T-shirt, access to the volunteer hospitality tent and an opportunity to interact with world-class athletes. To volunteer, call (727) 825-1271 or register online at www.satriathlon.com.

St. Anthony’s Triathlon is sponsored and produced by St. Anthony’s Health Care, a private, not-for-profit health care organization dedicated to improving the health of the community.
