Athletics: Robinson named USATF Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Kelley Robinson has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the youth girls race at the 2006 USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships Saturday in Spokane, Wash. Robinson, 12, of Nederland, Colo., cruised to a 42-second victory with a time of 14 minutes 13.24 seconds in the youth girls 4 km race. Robinson qualified for the USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships by winning the Region 10 Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships and the Colorado Association Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships. Now in its sixth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website.
