The Quelle Challenge Roth, the world’s largest long course triathlon, has reached its capacity and has closed entries for the 2007 edition of the race. It will make room for 2,500 individual entries and another 500 relay teams on race day. In total, some 4,000 endurance athletes will take on the storied course on June 24, making Roth the biggest event on the ultra-distance calendar.
“We are thrilled that again our race has sold out so quickly,” said race director Felix Walchshöfer of the November sell-out. “It shows the continuing appeal of Roth for both professional athletes and age-groupers who want to achieve their dreams of a finish here.”
The race will also host a record number of international athletes, with fully 40 percent of the field coming from 44 countries around the world. The race also will host, again, the German long-course national championship and the world long-course championship for firefighters.
