(St. Paul, MN – 1/19/07) Best of the US Management is proud to
announce that the 2nd annual Evergreen Lake International Triathlon,
which will be contested on July 21, will host the 2007 “Best of the
US’ Illinois Qualifier. The fastest resident amateur male and female
finisher will be invited to represent the Land of Lincoln at the
“Best of the US National Championship” on October 6 at Cypress
Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, FL.
Evergreen Lake is an intermediate distance race that will be
contested at beautiful Comlara County Park in Hudson, which is a
short drive north of Bloomington. The event is expertly produced by
Tri Mom Events, whose sprint distance Tri Shark Classic hosted the
Illinois qualifier in 2006, which was won by Naperville residents Jen
Garrison, who also won the USAT National Championship last year, and
super-master David Irion.
According to BOUS Information Director Jerry MacNeil, “The inaugural
Evergreen Lake International Triathlon was an instant classic. The
post-race buzz couldn’t have been more positive. And the field
quality was superb. I’ve no doubt that Illinois will send a podium-
worthy team to the BOUS Championship next October.”
The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by
Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
