IRONMAN UK returns to Sherborne Castle in Dorset on August 19th 2007 and will see athletes return to the popular course first debuted in 2006.
The IRONMAN UK swim is a two-lap clockwise course in Sherborne Lake. It is a fast, easily navigated course that invites quick swim times. The IRONMAN UK Bike route takes advantage of the natural Dorset countryside with its course. The rolling terrain lends itself very well to the rigours of IRONMAN racing. Whilst there are no major climbs on the bike course, the 3 laps still manage to total over 2000mtrs of climbing.
The IRONMAN UK Run consists of two laps within Sherborne Castle and must rate as one of the most scenic IRONMAN run courses in the world. This is followed by two loops on the stretch of road leading towards the now infamous Babylon Hill turnaround. This is where many athletes last year realised that IRONMAN is as much in the mind as in the body.
