Online training tool found at RunnersWorld.com honored as one of the "Best Web-Only Tools"
EMMAUS, Penn. - (March 1, 2007) - The RUNNER'S WORLD SmartCoach feature, a tool that designs individualized training programs and is found online at RunnersWorld.com, was recognized by the Magazine Publishers of America's first-ever Digital Awards competition in the "Best Web-Only Tool" category. The inaugural MPA Digital Awards were presented at the MPA's 24/7 conference, held on February 27th in New York City, where the RUNNER'S WORLD SmartCoach was named a finalist and awarded second place in its category.
The RUNNER'S WORLD SmartCoach, sponsored by ASICS, is a free, interactive tool that combines science, mathematics and 40 years of collective running wisdom to bring users a proven, individualized training program and is just one of the many interactive tools now found on Runner's World's newly redesigned website.
"We're honored that the Runner's World SmartCoach feature was identified as one of the best tools on the market by MPA's Digital Awards," said Runner's World's Vice President and Publisher, Andrew Hersam. "Runner's World is dedicated not only to providing our audience with an entertaining and thought provoking reading experience, but also to aid them in their quest to become better runners. We're making use of today's technology to help our readers reach their full athletic potential."
The RUNNER'S WORLD SmartCoach feature tied for 2nd place in the "Best Web-Only Tool" category with Wired.com's Interactive Bionic Tour, SI.com's MySI and AOPA Pilot's 40 Top Technologies. The winner was PopSci.com's Best of What's New. The "Best Web-Only Tool" category is designated to recognize the best web-only interactive features found on websites within the magazine industry.
