OTTAWA - Athletics Canada is pleased to announce that online registration is now available for the 2007 TransCanada 10K Canadian Championship and for the TransCanada 10K Run with the Champions. The races take place jointly on October 13 2007 in Ottawa. In its second year, the event offers the unique opportunity for running enthusiasts, or people looking to stay fit and get exercise, to enter and run alongside – well most likely behind - Canada’s top road runners.
– The First 250 registrants will receive a FREE pair of Nike running long tights.
The race also hosts the Timex Series final which is the culmination of the Timex provincial series, encompassing every province across the country. New in 2007 will be a Pasta Dinner on Friday night at the Marriott Ottawa.
All proceeds raised from this event benefit Athletics Canada’s Junior Development Fund, helping off-set the cost of athletes attending World Youth Championships, World Junior Championships and World Cross Country Championships. Awards will be presented to Canadian Champions, Age-Category winners, and Timex Series Final Champions. All participants will receive an event shirt, a Finisher’s Certificate and Medal.
