7:15am RUN WITH A PHYSIO!
Instructors: Michelle Szkwarek & Stephanie Gales, Physiotherapists
Learn how to execute a dynamic warm-up for proper running preparation, and take home tools to implement in your own training. Also, you will be educated in evaluating various running forms and given tips on how your gait can hamper your progress or cause injury. 8:00am STRENGTHENING FOR INJURY PREVENTION
Instructor: Benoit Lefebvre (Kinesiologist) & Isabelle Depres (Physiotherapist & Personal Trainer)
Overwhelmed by trying to add strength training to your already maxed-out regime? Unsure which muscles to focus on? Learn about basic anatomy and how certain weaknesses can lead to imbalance and injury. Be introduced to exercises using the ball, BOSU and resistance bands. Don’t let pain sidetrack your training! 9:00am STRETCH FOR INJURY PREVENTION
Instructor: Heather Finn, Physiotherapist
Running is like any other repetitive motion we execute over and over during the day – you do it enough, and the strain can lead to injury! Runners commonly have muscle groups that tighten and cause pain while performing the repetitive motions required with running.
