(St. Paul, MN – 4/19/2006)–– “Best of the US” Management and JMS Racing invite the elite triathletes of the Hawkeye State to race at the PIGMAN TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US IOWA QUALIFIER near Cedar Rapids, IA on Sunday, June 3. As always, this popular and expertly-produced event has filled early, thus unregistered elites need to contact Race Director John Snitko (john@pigmantri.com).
Iowa has many fine triathletes. Female standouts include Jen Foley, Tina Friday, Jennifer Halfpap *, Dawn Keller, Mandi Kowal, L.A. Lowe, Chris Maravelas-Killian, Lisa Marshall, Julie Mock, MacKenzie Madison, Mia Richter *, Rachel Stauffer, Daniella Williams * and Julie Zierke-Clark. For the men, there’s J.J. Baily, Barry Breffle *, Roger Busch, Jason Halfpap, Mike Morrison *, 2005 and 2006 IA Representative (10th in 2005, 19th in 2006), Patrick Riley *, Reed Rindernecht, Brian Shadle, Mark Simons, Craig Spence, Loran Storts, and Doug Vanderweide *. The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Iowa at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 6 at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, FL. Any combination of the abovementioned male and female triathletes will insure a formidable presence for Iowa at the Championship.
