OTTAWA – Angela Whyte from Edmonton won the 100-metre hurdles last night at the 2nd Artur Takac Memorial in Serbia, Belgrade. Whyte was the only one to run under 13 seconds and won her race in a time of 12.97. Last week she recorded a time of 12.63 seconds in California, the fourth fastest time in the world this year.
In other Canadian results in Serbia, Scott Russell from Windsor, ON finished in 4th place in the javelin throw with a toss of 72.87-metres. Charles Allen from Ottawa was 6th in the men’s hurdles with a time of 13.87 seconds. Aubrey Herring of the United States won the race in 13.51.
100-metres world record holder Asafa Powell made his season debut at the meet and won in 9.97 seconds.
