The third edition of the Ironman France taking place on 24 June 2007 in Nice attracts 1500 athletes representing 52 nations. 16 hours of non stop animation on the Promenade des Anglais will attract more than 50.000 local spectators.
Welcome to the race week of the Ironman France. Athletes are already arriving in Nice, and the doors of the Herbalife Expo Village will open on Thursday 10h00 and remain open until Monday 25 June. The coming week offers five full days of show & sports on the Côte d’Azur with joyful animations for the spectators.
The highlight of this race week will be Sunday, of course. 1500 athletes representing 52 nations will swim 3.8km in the Angel’s Bay, cycle 180km through the hilly hinterland of Nice and run a full marathon of 42.195km on the Promenade des Anglais. The start will be given at 6h30 on 24 June on the Plage du Centenaire.
The winner of the race will cross the Finishline on the Promenade des Anglais at 15h15, while the last competitors will be welcomed around 22h30 with Fireworks and a huge party. 5 speakers and DJs will keep spectators informed about the race and entertained throughout the day. More than 50.000 local spectators are awaited in two main animation areas: the brand new Nice-Matin stage just opposite the Hotel Negresco with concerts and DJs during the afternoon and of course the Finishline on the Prom’ with 16hours non stop of animations and goodies.
