Athletics: Woods, Eaton lead multi's on Day 1 at the 2007 Finish Line USA Junior Champs

INDIANAPOLIS - 2006 USA Junior champion Shana Woods leads the junior women's heptathlon competition and Oregon freshman Ashton Eaton leads the junior men's decathlon at the conclusion of day one Wednesday at the 2007 Finish Line USA Junior Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis.

Woods won two of the four events contested en route to her 3, 311 points scored. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.73 seconds and the 200m in 24.35. Ryan Kraiss is sitting in second with 3,270.

Eaton is leading the men's decathlon with 3,920 points, having won the 100m (10.58) and 400m (48.48). Nick Adcock of Missouri is in second with 3,869m and Michael Ayers is in third with 3,769.

Junior competition continues tomorrow at the 2007 Finish Line USA Junior Track & Field Championships with the conclusion of the heptathlon and the decathlon, along with preliminary rounds and the men's high jump final.
