Toronto, Ontario - The 13th annual Toronto Marathon (TM) will run through
the streets of Toronto on Sunday, October 14, 2007. The Toronto Marathon
which begins at Mel Lastman Square and finishes at Queen's Park, will launch
a brand new course for 2007 showcasing many scenic and historic landmarks
and neighbourhoods including Yonge Street, Forest Hill, Casa Loma, Rosedale
Valley Ravine, St. Lawrence Market, the Flatiron Building, Queen's Quay, the
Martin Goodman Trail, High Park, and University Avenue. A course map is

Organizers are expecting over 10,000 participants from 40 + countries in the
Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and Relay. The event raises funds and awareness
for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, MS, Hemophilia, Toronto
Foundation for Student Success, The Canadian Institute for Cultural Affairs,
ORBIS Canada and Canadian Diabetes. Since 1995, the Toronto Marathon has
raised over $5.3 million for its affiliated charities.
The Toronto Marathon is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. It is
sanctioned by Athletics Canada and the AIMS and meets international
standards. The Toronto Marathon attracts over 50,000 spectators to the
streets of Toronto, and draws on the community for over 1,200 volunteers.
