Athletics: Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon And SSISA Workshop Series

Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA) have put together a series of workshops, themed 'Sweat, Survive and Succeed', which aims to assist runners with their preparation for the event on March 22, 2008.

Workshops will be held in both Cape Town and Durban, with the first one taking place at the SSISA in Newlands, Cape Town on Monday 21 January 2008. Aside from key speakers, there will be a panel of experts to answer runners' questions. Speakers and panelists are likely to include Ernst van Dyk, Ronnie Muhl, Prof Mike Lambert, Busisiwe Matiwane, a former superstar runner and Braam Malherbe.

Each workshop costs R35, with a donation being made to NOAH (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity), the new official race charity. The workshop presentations start at 18h00 sharp and finish at approximately 20h30, with a lucky draw that offers participants some excellent prizes, including two pairs of Puma running shoes. Registration is from 17h30 onwards. There will also be a cash bar and light snacks available from 17h30. Seating is limited so contact SSISA on [021] 659 5725 or email ccoupar@ssisa.com to book your seat.

Additional workshops will be held in Durban and Cape Town in January and February 2008.

Cape Town: Monday 21 January and Monday 18 February 2008 at Sports Science Institute in Newlands at 18h00.

Durban: 5 February 2008 at Riverside Hotel, Durban North. Contact Iris Varty on 083 460 0599 or email iris@eject.co.za.
