Triathlon: Kozub And Schultz Seek To Defend Best Of The Us Titles At Columbia

Watch over 50 IAAF Events Live and On-Demand at WCSN.com

(St. Paul, MN – 3/07/08) “The Columbia Triathlon/Best of the US Maryland/DC Qualifier is arguably the best international distance tri in America,” states BOUS PR Director Jerry MacNeil. “Its venue is second to none as is its race management and execution. This 27-year-old classic event has long ago reached its enrollment ceiling, thus we invite anyone and everyone who has ever wanted to watch a first-class triathlon to join us at scenic, spectator-friendly Centennial Park in Ellicott City, Maryland on May 18.”

Of the plethora of top athletes from Maryland and Washington DC who will be vying for the opportunity to represent themselves and their state at the 4th annual Best of the US Championship, hosted by the Soma Quarterman, on October 26 in Tempe, AZ, are Philippe Kozub of Bethesda, the reigning BOUS Champions and runner-up at the 2006 Championship, and two-time BOUS representative Krista Schultz of Towson. Kozub earned USAT Athlete of the Year Honorable Mention in 2007.

This year’s Columbia Triathlon will feature its strongest pro men’s field ever, including 2007 Triathlete of the Year Chris McCormack, course record holder Matt Reed and defending champ Greg Remaly.
