OTTAWA The Canadian World Cross Country team will line up against athletes from 69 other countries at the 36th International Association of Athletics Federations World Cross Country Championships taking place this weekend (Sunday March 30) in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Four races will be held at Holyrood Park as part of the championships. A senior mens 12km and senior womens 8km, as well as a junior mens 8km and junior womens 6km.

Sheila Reid from Newmarket, ON was originally named to the team but has had to pull out from competition due to an injury. She has been replaced by Tamara Jewett of Toronto.
A large component of the team heading to Scotland was recently in Orlando, Florida at the 4th NACAC Cross Country Championships. Canada dominated the North America, Central America and Caribbean Championships winning three individual titles, five medals of a possible twelve, and three of the four team awards (see March 1st coverage of the NACAC Championships).
Athletics Canada is the national sport governing body for the sport of track and field, cross-country running, road running and road racing.
