The first-ever Canada Army Run is set to kick off on Sunday, September 21, 2008 in Ottawa. Modeled after the Marine Corps Marathon and U.S. Army Ten Miler, which sell out in days, Canada’s version is designed to celebrate our military and the work they are doing at home and abroad. All runners, walkers and joggers are welcome to take part in either the 5K, which starts at 8AMm or the Half Marathon, which begins at 9AM. The race will be run by the organizers of Canada’s largest race festival - the Ottawa Race Weekend - and the courses follow the flat, scenic Rideau Canal. Join in the fun the day before with special army displays, pasta dinner army-style and an evening of entertainment and celebrities.
