(St. Paul, MN – 4/22/2008)–– “Best of the US” Management and Race Director Larry Marshall invite the triathletes of the Land of Enchantment to race at the MILKMAN TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US NEW MEXICO QUALIFIER in Dexter, NM on Saturday, June 7.
New Mexico has a thriving triathlon scene and more than its share of talented athletes. Female standouts include Vanessa Berg, Aubrey Blair-Patterson, Amy Cole, Elizabeth Desmond, Amy Hinnerichs, Melissa Knight-Maloney, Maria Ladd, Char Latham, Gretchen McElroy, Terry Moore, Kristin Moriarity, Lorraine Palmer, Dina Pesenson (2007 & 2006 NM Representative),Jamie Lynn Prochno, Amy Regan, Tamsen Schurman and Elizabeth Weidling (2005 NM Representative) . For the men, there’s David Bell, Shaun Burns (2005 NM Representative), Pat Brug, Shane Cleveland, Steve Guerro, Steve Hall, Christian Krueger, Esteban Lopez, Danny Montoya, Mike Montoya, Clay Moseley (2007 & 2006 NM Representative), Dale Schuhofer, Perry Toles, Hector Tovar and Seth Wilke. Moseley placed 8th at last year’s Championship.
The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent New Mexico at the “Best of the US National Championship” on October 26 at the Soma Quarterman / Best of the US Championship in Tempe, AZ.
