30th Memorial Day tradition features International Team Challenge and more than 50,000 participants in Boulder, Colorado
Primes at Miles 1 and 4 for the International Team Challenge
The Boulder Wine Merchant, the only wine retailer in the world owned and operated by two Master Sommeliers, has announced that they are sponsoring the Mile 4 Prime for this year's International Team Challenge at the DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER on Monday, May 26, 2008.
As the Mile 4 Prime sponsor, The Boulder Wine Merchant will award $1500 to the professional runners, $750 to the first pro male and $750 to the first pro female, who cross the Mile 4 mark in the fastest time and then finish the race in the top ten overall.
Boulder Running Company will also sponsor a prime for the same amount at mile 1 on the course. Both retailers are located near their prime locations. According to BolderBOULDER Pro Athlete Coordinator Don Janicki, "having two prime locations at key points on the course will completely change the dynamics of the race. Instead of runners only thinking about their position at the finish we will have mini races going throughout the 10K."
Team Running USA's and 2008 U.S. Olympic marathoners Ryan Hall and Deena Kastor lead the U.S. teams at the 11th International Team Challenge against distance powerhouses such as Kenya, Ethiopia, Japan and Morocco.

30 Years...30 Entertainment Acts
It started at the very first BolderBOULDER in 1979...having bands and other entertainment all along the course. And it continues this month as 30 different acts help keep spirits high and feet moving for the expected 50,000-plus runners and walkers at the 30th DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER.
A wide range of entertainment will again be well represented with jazz from Sundays At Vic's and Lisa Bell, electro-pop & soul from DVS & Chantel, the 'Afro-sippi blues' of Dan Treanor & African Wind, children's music from Sue Schnitzer, the piano rock of The Autumn Film and the instrumental laboratory music of GoGoLab, just to name a few! And don't forget Elvis, the Blues Brothers, DJs spinning tunes and the middle and high school bands at 20th & Pearl Streets!
And it wouldn't be a BolderBOULDER without the belly dancers! Beledi Dance Caravan and the Boulder Tribe will again join Ms. Tu-Tu's enthusiastic dancing along the race route that starts at 30th & Iris and winds its way through the streets of Boulder ending at Folsom Field.
As it's always been, this year's DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER will be a community event as the Boulder High School Pep Band and Boulder High School Pom Squad again join various 'neighborhood bands' along the route cheering and playing music at their locations.

BolderBOULDER's Boldest (The BBB's)
In 1988, the BolderBOULDER recognized a group of 110 runners dubbed the "Perfect 10s" or the BolderBOULDER's Boldest. These athletes had run every race since the first one in 1979. Going into the 30th running, only 73 of these hardy souls have kept their streak alive. Many have hobbled through the race on crutches or traveled half way across the world to cross the finish line and stay in this elite group.
The oldest of the remaining BBB's is 83-year-old Walter Slack and the youngest is Ted Bosley, who was only 6-years-old in 1979 for the first race.
