BOULDER, Colo. – June 11, 2008 – CEO Challenges, the world leader in sport competitions for CEOs, has a few remaining slots for the AIG CEO Challenge at the 2008 Subaru Ironman Canada in Penticton, British Columbia, on August 24. Participants must be CEOs, owners, presidents of companies with at least $2.5 million in annual gross revenue. C-Suite Executives of companies with at least $5 million are also invited to take part.
Subaru Ironman Canada, first established in 1983, is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim (3.8 km), 112-mile bike (180 km), and 26.2-mile run (42.2 km). Within this event, CEO Challenges reserves 25 spots specifically for the CEO Challenge.
This CEO Challenge is sponsored by AIG Personal Client Group. The all-inclusive entry is $5,400 of which 15 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Blazeman Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those living with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
“When I worked for Ironman North America I had my choice of any Ironman race in the world to do, including Kona. I chose Ironman Canada in 2001 because of the incredible beauty of the course, support of the town, and way the athletes are treated. Shop owners see your athlete band and treat you like you are in the Olympics – finishing Subaru Ironman Canada is still a highlight of my life,” said Ted Kennedy, owner of CEO Challenges.
Participants who sign up through CEO Challenges will receive guaranteed entry into the race; six days, five nights accommodation at the Penticton Lakeside Resort (literally steps from the start and finish); special race status including low numbers, preferred athlete check-in, bike racks with the pros and special color swim caps; four V.I.P. passes that offer complete access to tents and viewing areas; networking opportunities; group meals including an exclusive Dinner with the Pros; Zoot CEO Challenge apparel; pre-race and on-site coaching; activities and events for family members and guests in attendance; and much more.
Two CEO Challenge participants—the first place finisher and the person who finishes highest in their age group—will be invited to compete in the CEO Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on Oct. 11 (registration for this race is already closed to the general public). The winner of the CEO Challenge in Hawaii earns the title of “World’s Fittest CEO®.”
Next up for CEO Challenges is registration in the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore on September 7; a 1.2-mile swim (1.9 km), 56-mile bike (90.1 km), and 13.1-mile run (21.1 km) on a flat, very fast course through the Singapore Central Business District.
