(Duluth, Minn.) Grandma’s Marathon has announced the registration totals for next weekend’s 32nd annual event. A record 9,888 participants are signed up for Grandma’s Marathon, topping last year’s total of 9,747. This is the 14th consecutive year that the Two Harbors to Duluth 26.2-mile race has reached its capacity.
The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, now in its 18th year, also reached a new high with 6,619 runners registered. The first event in the three-race weekend, the 15th annual William A. Irvin 5K, has 1,341 registrants.
In all, 17,849 people are registered to compete (9,636 men, 8,213 women) during Grandma’s Marathon weekend.

6:30 a.m. – 18th annual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon
7:30 a.m. – 32nd annual Grandma’s Marathon
Grandma’s Marathon Notes:
*The Verizon Wireless runner tracking sign-up form is available until June 18 by visiting GrandmasMarathon.com . By signing up for this service, fans will receive text message or e-mail updates on particular runners at various points along the racecourse.
*The awards ceremony for Grandma’s Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon has been moved to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). This change allows the afternoon live entertainment under Canal Park’s Big Top tent to continue until 5:15 p.m., as opposed to ending at 3 p.m. to accommodate the awards ceremony.
