The world’s biggest one-day running event just got bigger
Registration for the Nike+ Human Race is officially open, with the goal of securing one million participants on August 31. The race will provide an opportunity to give back, allowing participants to support three official Nike+ Human Race charitable partners – the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the World Wildlife Federation and ninemillion.org. Money will be raised via giveback from registration fees, a percentage of Nike+ Human Race t-shirt sales and a donation of USD $1million from Nike. Runners in all 25 host cities will now also be able to experience an exclusive music performance by some of today’s top artists – including Kayne West in Los Angeles, All American Rejects in New York and Fall Out Boy in Chicago, among others.
Runners outside of the selected cities can also participate through Nike+. With the Nike+ iPod and Nike+ Sport Band, runners can track their miles and sync online, so they too can be part of the bigger race effort. Pre-race and race-day activities will include participation by top Nike athletes, race courses that take runners by famous landmarks, and an exclusive music concert featuring one of the today’s top artists in each city
