Athletics: White, Williams to Compete at USA Junior Championships

Watch over 50 IAAF Events Live and On-Demand at WCSN.com FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Freshmen Catherine White and Shelise Williams, members of the Arkansas Lady Razorback track and field team, will compete at the 2008 USA Junior Championships, held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, on the campus of Ohio State University. The meet will take place June 20-22. Williams and White are both coming off excellent freshmen seasons with the Lady’Backs. Both scored points at the SEC Championships and qualified for the regional and NCAA Championships, White in the distance events and Williams in the 400 meters and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay. Williams, with a season-best 400-meter time of 54.03, ranks 10th nationally. The 400-meter prelims will be contested Saturday afternoon and the finals are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. White leads the nation in the 5,000 meters. She holds a season-best time of 16:14.93. The 5,000-meter final is set to go off at 8:10 p.m. on Saturday.
