Athletics: Future Razorback Phillips Concludes at World Juniors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorback soon-to-be sophomore Duncan Phillips has concluded competition at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland on Monday.

Running in the 1,500-meter prelims, he finished fifth in his heat of 12 and was just two spots out of qualifying for the final. He clocked a time of 3:55.80.

Also competing at the IAAF World Junior championships is soon-to-be Razorback Tarik Batchelor of Jamaica. He marked a long jump of 24-1.75 in the prelims and holds the third-best prelim jump heading into Wednesday’s final.

Luke Laird will compete in the javelin prelims at the IAAF World Junior Championships on Wednesday.
