Athletics: Change of Plans - Women’s Cross Country Travels to Memphis

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Originally scheduled to compete at San Diego State’s Aztec Invitational, Arkansas Razorback women’s cross country has made a schedule change because of travel arrangements and will now be competing at Saturday’s Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic, hosted by Christian Brothers University.

The 5K race is set to go off at 8:40 p.m. at Mike Rose Stadium in Memphis, Tenn. Also competing will be Southeastern Conference foe Kentucky, Memphis, Alabama-Birmingham, McNeese State, San Jose State, Austin Peay and Texas A&M Commerce, among others.

Denise Bargiachi, Halsey Fowler, Cali George, Megan Jackson, Christine Kalmer, Samantha Learch, Ashley Mason, Dacia (Barr) Perkins, Jillian Rosen, Ashley Williams and Catherine White are scheduled to compete Saturday.

Arkansas freshmen Fowler, George, Learch and Mason are expected to make their Razorback debuts at the Aztec Invitational this weekend. All four competed in the Arkansas Dual as unattached runners and are scheduled to compete in uniform in San Diego.

White, Perkins, Bargiachi, Miranda Walker and Kalmer hold the top five spots in the SEC 4K rankings. The Arkansas quintet leads the rest of the field by nearly seven seconds.
