Athletics: Universal Sports to Provide Live Coverage of Berlin Marathon Presented by MarathonGuide.com

Tune in September 28 to Universal Sports TV and UniversalSports.com

Universal Sports will provide live coverage of the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 28 via UniversalSports.com and same-day-delay coverage on Universal Sports TV. Presented by MarathonGuide.com, fans can tune-in to watch the world's top marathon runners compete head-to-head in this coveted event.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Berlin Marathon features more than 40,000 athletes, including last year's world record holder Haile Gebrselassie from Ethiopia, defending champion Kenyan Robert K Cheruiyot and his training partner Martin Lel. To add to the intensity of the competition, Cheruiyot and Lel are the last two men in the running for the men's World Marathon Major title. Among the women's roster is last year's defending champion Gete Wami of Ethiopia racing against Olympic bronze medalist Zhou Chunxiu and Olympic silver medalist Catherine Ndereba.

The Berlin Marathon will be playing a determining factor in the 2007-2008 World Marathon Majors Series men's and women's titles. With six athletes still in contention, the Series is headed for another exciting conclusion as athletes have only three chances left to score points before the champions are crowned on November 3 in New York City.

In addition to the online and TV coverage, fans can visit the marathon section on UniversalSports.com for up-to-date broadcast schedules, breaking news, video highlights, special features, photo galleries and more.

The race will be available LIVE online (UniversalSports.com) starting at 2:15 a.m.and on televesion (delayed) on the Universal Sports Television Network* starting at 2:00 p.m. on September 28th.

*Visit UniversalSports.com for availability of the Universal Sports Network in local TV markets.
