Toronto, ON – October 16, 2008 – The excitement of the 14th Annual Toronto Marathon begins at the Toronto Marathon Runners Expo. Runners pick up their race kits and shop around for the latest in running gear while gathering information on the most enticing international marathon destinations.
Where: Sheraton Centre Hotel – 123 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON
When: Friday Oct. 17th, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Saturday Oct. 18th, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
In preparation for race day, the Toronto Marathon will host a carbo load dinner on Saturday October 18, 2008 at 6 p.m. The dinner will feature a runners’ workshop with guest speakers including running legend Kathrine Switzer.

The Toronto Marathon is the largest and oldest marathon in Toronto, generating over $15 million to the local economy each year. Over 12,000 participants from 45+ countries are expected to participate in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K or Relay on October 19th.
Since 1995, the Toronto Marathon has generated over $6 million for its various charitable partners including the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Hemophilia, Multiple Sclerosis, Toronto Foundation for Student Success, ICA Canada and Diabetes.
