(Marietta, GA, October 17, 2008) - On Sunday Foot Solution’s runner Tatyana Belovol will be racing the unique Detroit Free Press Marathon. The race takes the athletes across the U.S. and Canadian border twice for an international experience. Belovol will compete to win, as she runs to defend her teammates title from the previous year. With a triumphant finish last year, Anzhelika Averkova came in first place at 2:34:50 with a blazing 5:55 minute per mile pace. Her time was less than 35 seconds off the course record. As Averkova will not be competing this year, her teammate Belovol will take on the challenge.
Belovol is an elite athlete with several top finishes across the world as she is originally from Ukraine. Recently she won the Connecticut Greater Hartford Marathon in 2007. Now as she prepares for the Detroit Free Press Marathon, she will be up against other standout runners. Her top competition will be from two Olympic Trials qualifiers Sara Hinkley and Mary Akor. As the competition will be fierce, Belovol plans on leading the pack.
Although the race is stacked with fast runners, Belovol has been training hard and smart. Approaching the Masters division, as Belovol is 39 her body is remaining strong.
