Have you got your entry in for the 2009 Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa? Normal entries close on the 14 November but if you are still interested in being part of this event you have until 28 November 2008 to get your late entry in.
The 2nd edition of the Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 SA will take place in East London on Sunday, 18 January 2009 and will take athletes on a 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run. The race can be completed as either an individual or team. Entering as a team means that you need a group of three athletes – one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner. The race starts in waves (depending on age groups) which allows the organizers to accommodate a large number of athletes. Triangle South Africa, and Buffalo City, would like to see this Ironman 70.3 become one of the largest and most popular in the world.
This year will see South Africa’s favourite tri-athlete Raynard Tissink and Desiree Ficker of the USA return to depend their titles in a showdown that promises to have spectators on the edge of their seats.
