A total prize money of 70.000 EUR waits for the participants of the TriStar200 Andalucía on 12 September 2009. The winner -- men and women -- of the new event over 169km of cycling in a drafting competition followed by a 1km swim and a closing run over 30km on the endless sandy beaches of the Doñana national park with the finish in the popular summer resort Matalascañas will receive 10.000 EUR each, the runners-up get 7.500 EUR. The prize money for the places three to five is broken down as follows: 5.000, 3000 and 2000 EUR.
In addition to the TOP 5 prize money the organizers offer six "Intermediate Sprint Prizes" -- 4 Bike Sprints, one Swim Sprint and one Run Sprint at 10km, each worth 500 EUR for male and female. The fastest relay gets 2000 EUR.
You need to finish the race in order to receive prize money. The prize money for the TOP 5 female and male will be paid only for PRO athletes, NOT for amateur athletes. All other prizes will be paid to either amateurs or professionals. For the intermediate sprints, the first athlete crossing the control point will receive the prize, not the one with the best intermediate split!
