New community-wide initiative to collect more than 20,000 shoes in 2010
ST. LOUIS - (February 26, 2010) - Share-A-Pair is a new community-wide initiative launched by GO! St. Louis, in partnership with MERS-Goodwill, to collect 20,010 pairs of gently-worn shoes in 2010.
A specially-designed Shoe-Mobile receptacle, which is approximately 6'x 9' and completely portable, will be on display at area companies and select locations throughout the St. Louis region through December 2010. Tom Schmittdiel of PSG Marketing provided the creative and concept for the Shoe-Mobile.
Shoes of all types are needed to reach the 20,000 plus shoe goal. Donated shoes will be collected by MERS-Goodwill for distribution to outlets, which will ultimately help fund its mission to train and provide assistance to the St. Louis community. Additional shoes that are not reusable will be recycled.
