After 13 months of injury Lornah Kiplagat made her comeback Sunday afternoon at the 3rd Runner's World Zandvoort Circuit Run. She ran a testrun over 5 kilometer at the former F1 circuit. Kiplagat was very pleased with her time and her race. The Dutch athlete mentioned afterwards she was happy to be back after being injured at her right knee.
The Runner's World Zandvoort Circuit Run is a unique event in Holland. Kiplagat had never run on a race circuit, which she found very challenging. "Because you are kept busy with the different heights and curves, you don't notice that you run. So I was surprised to be back so quickly", she said. In 16.58 minutes she became first in the Ladies Circuit Run 5 km. "It is fast, I wasn't expecting that. I had so much fun being among the other women and run with them. I especially choose for this event, because I don't want to run against my opponents yet, but wanted to taste the atmosphere of a competition."
Organizer Le Champion was very pleased for Kiplagat she had a good test.
