(Duluth, Minn.) Grandma's Marathon weekend officially kicks off today with the SMDC Health System Health and Fitness Expo. The free, two-day event is open today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The expo is held in the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) arena and is open to the public.
Featuring more than 100 booths, the SMDC Health System Health and Fitness Expo is one of the largest on the road racing circuit. Exhibitors will be showcasing the latest products and services available in the athletic industry.
Participants registered in the 34th annual Grandma's Marathon and the 20th annual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon may pick up their race packets at the event, as well. Packet pick-up continues until 11 p.m. Friday.
Advantage Emblem, the official merchandiser of Grandma's Marathon, will be on hand with official 2010 Grandma's Marathon T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other merchandise.
Friday's Grandma's Marathon activities include the SMDC Health System Health and Fitness Expo, the Michelina's All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner, guest speaker presentations,
the Whipper Snapper Races for Kids and the 17th annual William A. Irvin 5K.
