(Duluth, Minn.) Joe Moore won tonight's 41st annual running of the Park Point 5-Miler with a time of 25 minutes and 5 seconds. Moore, 28, of Minneapolis, placed 12th at the 2012 Half Marathon Championships held in Duluth last month.
In the female division, Duluth's Katie Koski, 39, claimed the title with a time of 29:47. The victory was her fifth at the event.
Due to high humidity and temperatures in the high 80s, open division and age group awards were not distributed. Individual 5-mile run results can be found here: MTECResults.com. The individual walk results will available early next week at GrandmasMarathon.com.
A total of 562 runners and 46 walkers registered for the event --- northern Minnesota's oldest road race. Youth races for children 14 and under accompanied the five-mile run and two-mile walk.
Net proceeds from the Park Point 5-Miler benefit the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF), a Grandma's Marathon program focused on the promotion and development of youth athletics.
