7 AUG 2012. Monte Carlo, Monaco: Once again, this year's TriStar Monaco, the fun format of triathlon, together with Peace and Sport, an international initiative at the service of peace, continue their efforts for the promotion of sport, its values and its power to educate. Fun, environmental protection and social responsibility are the three main pillars in the organizer's philosophy and consequently are part of all TriStar races. The aspect of social responsibility is accomplished by supporting local institutions through variety of actions on the race destination. The aims are to sensibilise the participants and bring them to contribute in a meaningful way towards a fund.
The glamorous and exquisite destination Monaco will host on September 2, 2012 the third consecutive edition of TriStar111 with more than 1,000 triathletes gathered around this fun race.
For the second running year, the "Champions for Peace" team will participate in the TriStar Monaco. The Champions for Peace initiative was created by Peace and Sport in 2009 to offer top-level sports champions a structure for communal expression and action to support sports projects at the service of peace, human and social development. It counts more than 60 members from any sport all around the world.
Peace and Sport is a neutral and apolitical organization based in Monaco acting for sustainable peace throughout the world. Under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, it promotes the practice of structured sport and sporting values to educate young generations and help foster social stability, reconciliation and dialogue between communities.
An international initiative at the service of peace, Peace and Sport intervenes in areas made vulnerable by extreme poverty, recent conflict or lack of social cohesion.
Part of their mission is to turn no-man's lands into sports grounds, to reintegrate child soldiers into society, to help war orphans regain self confidence, to integrate refugees, to help the poor have access to education, and establish a spirit of citizenship in disadvantaged urban areas... all thanks to sport.
Star Events, the company behind the TriStar series, proposes triathlon also as a team-sport accessible for everyone. The participants have the opportunity to discover it in a new eco-friendly and charity driven way. Come and support them at TriStar Monaco on Sunday, September 2.
